Blizzard Is In For A Lengthy Battle: Mythic EntertainmentForget the Console wars between Microsoft and Sony! The massively Multiplayer online gaming scene is beginning to get very competitive. A few short days ago, Paul Sams, the executive from Blizzard had pointed out that more than half of the subscribers who left World of Warcraft for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning had come back.
But Mythic Entertainment's chief executive officer, Mark Jacobs, has sadi that Blizzard is in for a lenghty battle. He told gaming news website GamesIndustry.biz:
"This is the beginning of a rather lengthy battle with the guys at Blizzard. We are in this space to be successful and, when you have a competitor that is as successful and important to the games industry as WOW has been, you don't go into this space unless you're willing to spend money and spend time and really compete against them."
According to Jacobs, it is not a sprint but a marathon. The head of Mythic had earlier explained that when it comes to massively multiplayer online games, people play multiple titles.
Blizzard had pointed out that more than half of the subscribers who left World of Warcraft for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning had come back.
Yeah...we figured this out as soon as the queue's have been slapping us in the face within the last week...
