Might be old news to some. It came out last month. Might be new news to some who don't know
World Of Warcraft Real ID Party System Goes Live

Starting today, World of Warcraft players can now explore dungeons with friends on other servers. Blizzard has opened the Real ID Party feature up for testing.
Real ID is a social networking feature that was added to World of Warcraft just a few months back. It allows you to chat with friends even if they're on a different server or playing StarCraft II. Blizzard plans to add Real ID support to future games as well.
"Inviting a Real ID friend to a Real ID Party is simple," says Blizzard. "Just open up your Friends list to see which Real ID friends are online. Click on the 'Plus' button to send an invitation to a Real ID friend to join your group. You can continue to add Real ID friends to your party until the group is complete. If you cannot complete the group with Real ID friends, you are free to join the Dungeon Finder to fill in the missing roles."
Blizzard isn't sure how long they'll be testing this feature. They say they'll warn you before they turn it off, though. Best to try it out now, because it'll probably be a paid service in the future.
"It’s important to note that as with some of the other convenience- and connectivity-oriented features we offer, certain elements of the cross-realm Real ID party system will be premium-based, though only the player sending the invitations will need to have access to the premium service," Blizzard said in May when they first announced this feature.
